Juvenile Red-tailed Hawk in Spring

This is likely one raised by the local pair in Silas Condict County Park here Kinnelon. She did not winter here. Her folks are busy raising a new brood right now not far from here. These birds do not develop their distinctive and namesake "red" tail until well into their second year.
